E-Mail Systems Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Analyze the client’s technical requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop enterprise-wide e-mail system requirements specifications, analyze system requirements, and lead design and development activities pertaining to enterprise e-mail systems implementation and delivery. Guide clients in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conducting feasibility studies. Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and e-mail technology implementation. Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into on-going operations and develop system architecture and system design documentation. Guide system development and implementation planning through the assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interact with the client regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts. Maintain responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility, including communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2 and newer

-Experience in operating and maintaining enterprise Microsoft exchange services, including mailbox administration, database availability groups (DAGs), and Email proxy services

-Experience with Microsoft exchange mail backup and journaling technical solutions

-Active TS/SCI clearance required; willingness to take a polygraph exam

-HS diploma or GED and 12 years of experience with systems administration, AA or AS degree and 10 years of experience with systems administration, BA or BS degree and 8 years of experience with systems administration, MA or MS degree and 6 years of experience with systems administration

-Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in managing security settings for enterprise mail services using DoD STIGs and SRGs

-Experience in developing and managing scripted solutions using PowerShell

-Experience with Enterprise Vault
-Experience with the management and operational use of systems monitoring tools, including SolarWinds, Splunk, or Microsoft SCOM

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Engineer (MCSE) in Windows 2012 or newer

-Microsoft Certified Solutions Engineer (MCSE) and Messaging for Exchange 2016

-Technical Certification in enterprise e-mail backup or journaling solutions, including solutions, such as Commvault, Enterprise Vault, Cloudera and ITIL v3 Certifications
