Electrical Engineer, Lead

Key Role:

Provide support to clients on projects involving the research, design, development, and testing of electrical equipment, components, or systems for high-voltage and medium-voltage electric power systems. Apply knowledge of electrical engineering to assist the client with the development of requirements for complex programs and provide strategic advice and technical guidance. Communicate effective solutions and recommendations to the client in oral and written forms. Develop high-level schematics, conceptual design, and cost estimates to support recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and maintenance efforts for mission critical challenges. Lead the development and implementation of key technologies for client organizations as a recognized expert in the field.

Basic Qualifications:
-10+ years of experience as an electrical engineer working with electric utilities or industry

-Experience with DOE programs related to grid reliability, Cybersecurity, and electrical systems
-Experience with the analysis or design of electric distribution equipment and systems, transmission equipment and systems, or utility substations equipment and components
-Experience with applying engineering theories, standards, concepts, resources, and techniques
-Experience with working on complex projects independently or on teams of larger projects involving engineering and analytical studies
-Ability to interpret and analyze electric single line diagrams
-Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with using load flow or power simulation software
-Experience with electricity transmission and distribution systems, renewable energy, or distributed generation
-Experience in consulting for industry or government clients

-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-MA or MS degree in Engineering or a related field

-Coursework in Electric Power Systems
