Electrical Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Develop and apply advanced hardware and systems methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems. Plan, conduct, technically direct, and evaluate projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity. Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Recommend corrections for technical application and analysis and evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Provide technical consultation to other organizations and provide work leadership for junior employees. Leverage senior expertise to support the development and demonstration of advanced IRFPAs, custom dewars, infrared sensors and lab components, enhancement and improvement of domestic Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CdZnTe) infrared detector substrate production, develop novel Readout Integrated Circuit (ROIC) design and fabrication, Infrared Avalanche Photodiodes (APDs), and enhancements of domestic CdZnTe substrate inventories. 

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with applicable and progressively complex hardware design engineering

-Experience as a systems and process engineer in the development of advanced infrared focal plane arrays, substrates, or read-out integrated circuits

-Knowledge of requirements development, systems engineering life cycle, process improvement, analog electronics design and testing, equipment maintenance, characterization, infrared, and electro-optical systems

-Ability to support the management and technical programmatic aspects of development and test programs, including technical briefings, technical summary reports, milestone schedules, and periodic technical reports

-Ability to obtain a security clearance required

-BS degree in EE

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience as an engineer in Multilevel wafer stacking for 3D circuit integration of radio frequency (RF) devices and process engineer Infrared Focal Plane Arrays

-Knowledge of SPC, PFMEA, DFSS, JHA, DOE, or root cause analysis

-Knowledge of contamination reduction

-Knowledge of hazardous waste management

-Knowledge of Minitab, SigmaPlot, Mathematica, LabVIEW, or MATLAB software

-Knowledge of characterization of Atom Probe Tomography, Electron Microscopy, X-Ray Diffraction, Atomic Force Microscopy, Radiometry, Ellipsometry, 3D microscopy

-Ability to handle HF, bromine, and heavy metals

-Ability to improve the quality, schedule, and cost to deliver focal plane array sub-assemblies

-MA or MS degree in EE
