Electrical Engineer

Key Role:

Provide electrical engineering expertise and support to Air Force nuclear weapons surety programs across all nuclear sustainment and acquisition programs and systems. Provide engineering program management support ensuring nuclear certification standards are met in accordance with applicable directives. Provide engineering expertise by reviewing, analyzing, and coordinating on several certification documents, including the NCCS, NCIS, and CRP. Emphasize on updating policy for emerging technologies. Review and conduct nuclear surety policy tasks and coordinate efforts of technical support personnel, technical writers, and other technicians in the performance developing approved nuclear certification packages for tactical and strategic aircraft systems and strategic missile systems. 


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with tactical and strategic nuclear weapons systems and interfaces
-Experience with program management and nuclear certification
-Experience with DoD and Air Force nuclear certification governance, including DoD 3150.02 and AFI 63–125
-Experience with project management in a DoD or DoE environment
-Experience in supporting nuclear weapons or environments
-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with nuclear weapons systems and associated delivery platforms
-Experience with strategic missile systems and associated nuclear surety directives, as applied to certification
-Experience with business process analysis and development
-Experience with military protocol, tactics, techniques, and procedures, and current concepts of operations
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent organizational and time management skills
-Possession of excellent analytical and problem solving skills

-TS/SCI clearance preferred

-BS degree in ME preferred; MS degree in ME a plus

-Nuclear Professional Certification preferred

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
