Electrical Engineer

Key Role:

Design, develop, modify, and evaluate complicated and difficult hardware devices and systems. Lead efforts to design brushless DC motor systems and controls for weapons and turrets. Interface with weapons engineers and fire control engineers to ensure proper integration and tuning of motor systems. Maintain technical responsibility for planning and conducting technical processes or phases of projects and coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel, drafters, technical writers, and electronics technicians, as required. Develop and recommend design approaches for new or improved products and processes. Consolidate the results of hardware design elements for assigned projects. Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications, and requirements and evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. 

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience in working with the electrical integration of brushless DC motors and servo drives, including interconnection, tuning, or motion profile design

-Experience with rotary feedback integration, including resolvers and encoders

-Experience in teaming with mechanical engineers to design complex electromechanical systems

-Experience with power management in electromechanical systems, including filtering, power budgets, or back EMF absorption

-Experience with cable design and shielding design for EMC in motor applications

-Experience with electro mechanical actuation for motors and solenoids

-Ability to work within a team environment

-Ability to learn new skills on the job and accept feedback on work products
-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with design for military, automotive, or similar environments

-Experience with electronics design

-Experience with embedded and real-time programming

-Experience with instrumentation and test in AstroNova or LabVIEW

-Experience with data reduction and signal analysis in LabVIEW or MATLAB

-Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills to interface with the team and client
-Active Secret clearance

-BS degree in EE or a related field
