Electromagnetic Interference and Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer

Key Role:

Plan, execute, analyze, interpret, and document developmental Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), including both Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests for new and modified systems, subsystems, or components. Investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel and provide technical support and advice to other engineering groups. Guide and direct junior personnel on the set-up and performance of tests. Support Navy research and development efforts by performing product, integration, system, and regression-level E3 testing. Create test documents, including test plans, test procedures, requirements verification traceability matrices, and test reports. Generate, set priorities for, and organize client-driven test schedules. Serve as a lead technical and programmatic resource for the client and other contractors working on client site, grow and develop relationships with client and stakeholders, and thrive in a client site environment.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with progressively complex testing and evaluation in the area of E3, including EMI and EMC

-Experience with establishing, documenting, and maintaining processes for successful EMI and EMC testing and evaluation

-Experience with product qualification testing to satisfy military and commercial compliance standards

-Ability to recommend and operate EMI and EMC lab test equipment, including receivers, spectrum analyzers, generators, amplifiers, and antennas

-Ability to plan, coordinate, and conduct effective EMI and EMC testing with multiple test organizations, at multiple locations, and with multiple stakeholders

-Active Secret clearance required

-HS diploma or GED


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with electronic and electromagnetic system design, analysis, and test

-Experience with the design and development of HPM systems or RF specialized electronics

-Ability to oversee and manage daily operations and delivery of contractor workforce to ensure team success

-Ability to lead or participate in formal and informal reviews with stakeholders at predetermined points throughout a product’s development life cycle

-Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously

-Possession of excellent team leadership, development, client relationship, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning skills

-BA or BS degree
