Electronic Warfare- Focused RF Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Advise an Air Force client on the technological and engineering aspects of radio frequency (RF) concepts and projects related to Electronic Warfare (EW), including adequacy and feasibility. Provide the client with technical assessments and analyses of current and emerging commercial and military RF and EM technology, including software-defined radios, antennas and other apertures, sensors, analog and digital communications systems, position, navigation and timing systems, electronic attack systems, and trends in the field. Support the client during EW-focused demonstrations involving the integration of software-enabled RF technologies, advanced apertures, and software-coded waveforms. Develop manual waveforms to support electronic warfare initiatives and use multiple software coding frameworks to design waveform techniques.


Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with the design of RF systems in an EW attack setting
-Experience with typical test processes and procedures, including RF-cabled, anechoic chamber, and open-air events

-Knowledge of radar or communications components, architectures and radar, communications waveform generation and processing theory, modulation or demodulation, or near- and far-field effects

-Knowledge of electronic attack, radar theory, backscatter, and Doppler effects

-Knowledge of antenna theory, signal propagation and link budgets, typical digital communications protocols, error correction, and IEEE standards

-TS/SCI clearance required

-BS degree in EE and 2+ years of experience with RF systems engineering related to EW or MS degree in EE


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with supporting the delivery of EW effects, including electronic attack

-Experience with designing and coordinating lab and open-air range tests to validate technique effectiveness
-Knowledge of software, including MATLAB, C++, and GNU Radio Companion to program techniques or waveforms into loadable code

-Knowledge of EW used on airborne platforms, including EC-130s, EA-6Bs, or EA-18G
