Emergency Management and Security Specialist, Junior

Key Role:

Apply expertise in emergency management, contingency planning, and continuity of operation engagements. Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed emergency plans or procedures. Leverage comprehension of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, guidelines issued by DHS, FEMA, EPA, and OSHA, and directives, including Homeland Security Presidential Directives (HSPDs) regarding emergency preparedness, infrastructure protection, and physical security at a level sufficient to manage the area-wide implementation of emergency preparedness policies, programs, and procedures.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with working in one or more of the following areas: emergency management, emergency response, continuity of operations, homeland security, or physical security

-Experience with analyzing and implementing emergency plans, including occupant emergency, shelter-in-place, continuity of operations, and business continuity plans

-Ability to analyze the writing and development of a variety of work products, including standard operating procedures, after-action reports, PowerPoint presentations, user guides, and quick-reference guides

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Emergency Management, Disaster Management, or Homeland Security


Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of emergency communications tools, technologies, and management practices

-Knowledge of continuity guidance and directives

-Knowledge of emergency response, continuity, and physical security best practices

-Ability to interface with clients and customers by participating in client meetings, presenting work products to clients, and working directly with clients.

-Associate Emergency Manager (AEM), Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), or FEMA Professional Continuity Practitioner (PCP) Certifications
