Emergency Management Director, Senior

Key Role:

Provide support to clients on energy sector disaster response and crisis management activities. Apply engineering knowledge to assist the client with disaster preparedness training and prepare emergency plans and procedures for natural disasters, including hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes and wartime or technological disasters, including nuclear power plant emergencies or hazardous materials spills. Communicate effective solutions and recommendations to the client in oral and written forms. Develop high-level schematics, conceptual design, and cost estimates to support recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and maintenance efforts for mission critical challenges. Manage task personnel, schedule, and budget, assume a principal leadership role in presentations, demonstrations, furnishing expert advice, and addressing executive management questions regarding disaster recovery. Ensure contingency planning tactical and strategic plans meet clients’ needs. Monitor test results to ensure company readiness in case of an emergency. This position is located in Washington, DC.

Basic Qualifications:
-10+ years of experience with working in Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Management

-Experience with DOE programs related to grid reliability, Cybersecurity, and electrical systems  
-Experience with electricity transmission and distribution systems, renewable energy, or distributed generation systems

-Experience with working on complex projects independently or on teams of larger projects involving engineering and analytical studies 
-Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with emergency management in the energy sector

-Experience in working with electric utilities in disaster planning and power restoration efforts

-Experience with consulting for industry or government clients
-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-MA or MS degree in Engineering or a related field
