Emergency Management Exercise Project Lead

Key Role:

Apply expertise in emergency management, contingency planning, and continuity of operation engagements. Analyze emergency management stakeholder requirements and support for the design, development, conduct, and evaluation of exercises. Coordinate and maintain the relationship between the contractor's staff and stakeholders to optimize expertise in performance and cross-functional work and support performance, measurement, and reporting and minimize cost expenditures. Maintain responsibility for ensuring the quality of deliverables and products, support the program manager with ongoing projects and new projects, and formulate and implement effective and timely remedial actions. Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed complex agency plans or procedures. Leverage expertise in applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, guidelines issued by DHS, FEMA, EPA, and OSHA, and directives regarding emergency preparedness, infrastructure protection, and physical security at a level sufficient to test and validate emergency preparedness policies, programs, and procedures. Provide work and supervisory leadership to junior employees, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience in a professional work environment

-6 years of experience in an emergency management field

-Experience with designing, developing, conducting and evaluating exercises using homeland security methodologies

-Experience with leading projects and small teams, including serving as a supervisor

-Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines regarding homeland security or emergency management

-Ability to work in a team environment, conduct research and analysis, and develop high quality written reports and briefings.

-Willing to travel up to 25% of the time

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with program management
-Experience with business development
-MA or MS degree

-Emergency Management Certifications
-Associate Emergency Manager, Associate Emergency Manager, Certified Emergency Manager, Associate Business Continuity Planner, Homeland Security, or Master Exercise Practitioner Program Certification preferred
