Energy Communications Specialist, Senior

Key Role:

Support an Army client in direct interaction with senior client staff and work directly with the external affairs government lead and partner offices across the Army energy landscape. Develop a congressional outreach strategy and supporting materials to promote the office to key stakeholders. Apply expertise in writing, presentation creation, Web content, fact sheets, and a range of other communications products. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring products receive all appropriate client and stakeholder reviews across the Army community. Work independently and lead staff in day-to-day tasks, including event planning, media outreach, change initiative planning and execution, Web and social media updates, and collateral development.


Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with strategic communications

-5+ years of experience with the US Army, including active duty, reserves, or a consulting or agency environment

-5+ years of experience with working on Capitol Hill

-5+ years of experience with providing direct support to senior organization staff

-Experience with a range of writing styles, including social marketing, speech writing, fact sheet, social media, formal correspondence, and campaigns

-Experience in working with creative staff to develop compelling campaigns

-Knowledge of various research methodologies, including surveys, focus groups, and design thinking

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with government consulting or contracting

-Experience with energy issues and the energy industry, including energy efficiency and renewable energy

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-MA or MS degree in Communications or Energy fields
