Energy Management Expert

Key Role:

Support the federal client with a national energy management program, including utilities data management and compliance reporting. Analyze current and pending energy policies to assist federal program clients in comprehending market impacts and needs to modify federal programming. Use detailed knowledge of technical, business, market, and policy landscape related to one or more disciplines around energy efficiency, fossil energy, and renewable energy to assist clients with strategic and tactical solutions. Apply knowledge of financing mechanisms, federal, state, and local policies, and best practice benchmarks to assist clients with solving challenges related to compliance, business case selling, and outreach. Engage in activities, including research, data gathering, and analysis, while focusing on expanding knowledge, developing consulting skills, and building expertise.


Basic Qualifications:

-6+ months of experience with energy management

-Experience with data management tools, including Excel and Access and collaborative tools, including SharePoint

-Experience with task management

-Experience with analysis, evaluation, and data management related to energy and water management

-Ability to work independently while coordinating support with the larger team 

-Ability to be an innovative, resourceful, and collaborative problem-solver and learn and try new assignments

-Ability to perform research and provide analysis on research performed

-Ability to work core hours at a Booz Allen facility or on client site

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Energy, Science, or Environment


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with federal energy data management, benchmarking, and reporting tools, including Energy Star Portfolio Manager with Web Services and the DOE Compliance Tracking System

-Knowledge of utility provider rate structures, bill calculations, comparisons, and financial review

-Knowledge of federal sustainability drivers, including EO 13834, EISA 2007, performance-based contracts, and High Performance Sustainable Buildings

-Energy Management Professional Certification
