Enterprise Architect

Key Role:

Support the Department of Interior’s (DOI) enterprise architecture (EA) team to deliver infrastructure architecture subject matter expertise and analytical thought leadership to support the DOI Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO) in the areas of technology innovation, technology standards development, data center optimization, application rationalization, and IT portfolio management. Play a critical function for the DOI OCIO, delivering information on the DOI IT portfolio to identify improvement opportunities. Develop prioritization and implementation recommendations and plans.


Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with EA in the areas of infrastructure or technology architecture, solutions architecture, and applications architecture

-3+ years of experience with supporting technology innovation and lifecycle management, performing technology research and evaluation to develop recommendations on technology adoption, standardization, and sunsetting

-Experience with supporting and implementing IT service catalog and ITIL concepts

-Knowledge of key application delivery, Cloud computing, and IT infrastructure technologies and products, including Web, application servers, middleware, development frameworks, operating systems, database, security, network, and hosting to support technology analysis

-Ability to develop technology recommendation reports, technology usage policies, and briefings for both technical and executive audiences

-Public Trust clearance

-BA or BS degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with applying EA frameworks and methodologies, including FEA, TOGAF, and Roadmaps to develop architecture artifacts at the enterprise, program, or solution level

-Experience with developing technology lifecycle roadmaps

-Experience with developing current and future state architectural models and diagrams, including business process flows, data models, and system interface diagrams in Visio

-Experience in related IT strategy fields, including IT governance and IT PMO support

-Ability to demonstrate a high-energy, proactive, and entrepreneurial work style

-Possession of excellent analytical skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
