Enterprise Cloud Architect

Key Role:

Serve as a lead Cloud Enterprise Architect for Air Force (AF) Multi-Domain Command and Control Operations Center. Lead in the planning and vision-setting for DoD Cloud adoption and modernization of the AF enterprise IT computing infrastructure. Interact directly with senior AF and DoD clients and a client support team to develop strategic guidance and high–level architectures that support the AF's IT modernization efforts. Engage in thought leadership discussions, provide recommendations for the incremental steps required to evolve AF IT, and integrate key infrastructure components across the enterprise. Conduct analyses of AF IT requirements and transition planning and develop architecture baselines for data center consolidation and hybrid Cloud programs, including commercial and private. Assist the government with Cloud experimentation and test architecture set–up and execution on AF modeling and simulation networks with other Joint agency partners, and development nodes and support the management of government Cloud hardware or software test baseline. This position is located in Nellis AFB, NV.


Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in IT with Cloud computing environments

-3 years of experience with implementation, development, and consolidation of enterprise applications

-3 years of experience with the research, evaluation, and testing of Cloud computing, virtualization systems, or related products used by federal agencies or commercial industry

-Knowledge of Azure, AWS, GovCloud, and best practices for Cloud adoption for enterprise

-Knowledge of design patterns for Cloud application scoping, monitoring, scaling, security, latency, availability, and implementation

-Knowledge of Cloud services design and development from the Cloud service provider and the Cloud service consumer perspectives

-Knowledge of industry Cloud services providers and platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry

-TS/SCI clearance required

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in provisioning and managing large IaaS and PaaS environments with use of microservices, docker containers, and Kubernetes

-Experience with vetting complex trust boundaries, implementing AppSec principles, and role-based security modeling

-Experience in using database migration services, replication migration, and networking across highly sensitive and incompatible environments

-Experience with operating in the Air Force, OSD, Joint Staff or Combatant Command, Service, or Agency IT environments

-Experience with implementing ITIL service management business models

-Ability to build a technology stack from scratch based on complex technical requirements and govern a supporting tool chain

-Ability to setup, configure, and be responsible for cost management, performance, security and DevOps team analytics while administering the tool sets for each

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
