Environmental GIS Analyst

Key Role:

Design, analyze and develop geo-spatial solutions and product specifications for infrastructure, hydrographic, and physiographic features for global geo-spatial images and vector products. Perform geographic information systems (GIS) analyses on natural resources data. Plan, design, develop, document, and analyze spatial and relational databases. Apply software to manage spatial and related tabular data. Build databases by capturing map information with coordinate digitizer. Produce computer map products depicting contents of databases. Locate sources of GIS data and provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. This position is located in San Antonio, TX.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with using Geospatial Software Tools, including ESRI ArcGIS and Google Earth and geospatial data

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
-Ability to comprehend an organization's mission and requirements and develop innovative products to support their mission
-Ability to give presentations and explain geospatial tools and data requirements to stakeholders
-Ability to display strict attention to detail for quality assurance, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requests as tasks evolve 
-Ability to work independently and within a team setting
-Ability to interact successfully with government clients and Booz Allen colleagues on a continuous basis 

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Cartography, or CS

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Management System (EESOH-MIS) or other related Defense reporting systems

-Knowledge of programming in Visual Basic and Python Scripting

-Ability to access and categorize multiple sources of data, including real-time and dynamic, Imagery, or LIDAR for use by the community

-MS degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Cartography, CS, or a related field preferred

-GISP, ESRI Desktop Associate, or other relevant Certification preferred
