Environmental Specialist, Mid

Key Role:

Monitor and audit company operations regularly to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including CERCLA, CAA, and RCRA. Maintain responsibility of required environmental operation procedures to ensure company and employee awareness and comprehension, including adherence to approved health, safety, and environmental practices. Perform as a skilled researcher and interpret federal, state, and local environmental and energy regulations, including pertinent agency guidance documents and orders.

Basic Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience working in the environmental field, as an environmental or energy consultant

-Experience with conducting regulatory researching and records reviews in support of projects

-Experience with data management

-Knowledge of CERCLA and the phases a cleanup project undergoes during this process

-BS degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Ecology, and Natural Resources Management

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with supporting or conducting onsite assessments, audits, or inspections

-Experience with supporting field sampling events for site investigations, including collecting soil and groundwater samples and preparing samples for laboratory analysis

-Experience in sustainability and energy conservation and management, including solar, wind, water, utilities, and fleet

-Experience with energy alternative financing, including Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC) and Utility Energy Savings Contracts (UESC) a plus

-Experience with programs or operations within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

-Experience with FAA's Corporate Work Plan (CWP), FEATs, or RACER a plus

-Knowledge of environmental regulations, including National Environmental Policy Acts (NEPA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)

-Ability to synthesize technical information and data into clear and concise deliverables

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

-Possession of excellent time management skills, including working on multiple tasks simultaneously

-Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification
