European International Affairs Subject Matter Expert

Key Role:
Apply expertise in international relations and international affairs subject matter to US Air Forces in Europe to improve advice and guidance to the client commander and provide additional operational capacity to support DoD security objectives. Process country information across multiple African countries from multiple sources and develop analysis ready for senior client leaders. Analyze multiple information sources to provide comprehension of security issues, foreign affairs, the operational environments, including the political, military, economic, social, information, infrastructure, and physical environment of the area, trends, and current crises and advise leadership of situations with foreign policy implications. Analyze the development bullet background papers, briefings, trip books, talking points, and other deliverables. Monitor activities and interagency and country actions, deliver written documents, conduct analyses, and processes diplomatic cables. Collect, evaluate the validity of, and analyze objective sources of information, including political, economic, sociological, and scientific opinion and attitude survey statistics to supplement information from news and scholarly media, case, and other anecdotal or historical data. 

Basic Qualifications:
-6+ years of experience in working with DoD or Department of State (DoS) entities and working in US Embassy teams or security cooperation or security assistance programs as a political-military advisor
-Experiencing with analyzing national, departmental, and service strategy, guidance, and policy, DoS cables, and multi-INT intelligence reporting and applying it to DoD organizations at the Component, Combatant Command, or Service Headquarters level
-Knowledge of formal DoD, DoS, and USAF staffing processes and foreign military sales (FMS) processes 
-Ability to travel throughout the European and African areas of responsibility (AORs)
-Active Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree in International Relations or Foreign Policy

Additional Qualification:
-Experience with using the Task Management Tool (TMT) 

-Ability to be a self-starter, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, lead small teams, analyze complex data, and prioritize tasks
-Ability to be self-directed, independent, proactive, and deliver client-ready products requiring minimal corrections
-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Active Top Secret clearance 

-MA or MS degree in International Relations, Foreign Policy, or related subject matter

-Completion of Defense Institute for Security Cooperation Studies training
