Exercise Control Plans and Operations Planner

Key Role:

Perform at Joint headquarters and combat training centers. Provide oversight and develop a multi-national readiness capability through strategic planning, training, and Joint or bi-lateral and multi-national exercises with partner nations and allies. Manage the analysis and organization of large amounts of data and present the data to higher-level commands. Generate exercise master scenario events list (MSEL) or day-by-day schedule of events, rotational unit missions or training events, associated threat or OPFOR actions, and an overall rotational scenario narrative that supports the rotational unit commander’s training objectives. Integrate daily feedback from the rotational unit commander, operations group commander, OC/Ts in the field, and other personnel to produce high quality video packages and doctrinally correct after action reviews and take-home packages (THP) for rotational units.


Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with the Army at the battalion, brigade, and division levels

-3 years of experience in a Combat Training Center (CTC) or CTC-like organization within the past 10 years

-Experience with Army Mission Command Networks and Systems (MCNS) at the operator level required

-Experience with using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

-Knowledge of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) at the Brigade or higher level, training environments, Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming (LVC-G) technologies and concepts, and associated policies required

-Secret clearance required


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience at the Joint level a plus

-BA or BS degree preferred
