Exercise Planner

Key Role:

Serve as a Mission Training Complex (MTC) exercise planner to assist clients with exercise design and development to meet exercise and supported commanders’ training objectives in support of Active Component, Army Reserve, and National Guard units. Recommend exercise simulation drivers, including the Warfighter’s Simulation (WARSIM), Joint Deployment Logistics Module (JDLM), or Division Exercise Training and Review System (DXTRS) that are best suited to stimulate client Mission Command information Systems (MCiS) based on client training requirements. Ensure clients are familiar with MTC capabilities, develop MTC support planning timelines and status briefings, conduct exercise planning briefings, as required, and coordinate efforts of an MTC exercise support team. Participate in all key exercise development events, including Concept Development Working Group (CDWG), Initial Planning Working Group (IPWG), Mid-Planning Working Group (MPWG), Final Planning Working Group (FPWG), and Master Events Listing (MEL) development workshops. Participate in all In-Progress Reviews (IPR). Participate in exercise coordination meetings during major exercises, as required. This position is located in Arlington Heights, IL.


Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with exercise planning

-Knowledge of combat, Combat Support (CS), and Combat Service-Support (CSS) organizations and function

-Knowledge of MCiS and other available systems to conduct exercise support

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-HS diploma or GED


Additional Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with the development and delivery of military training programs

-2+ years of experience with leadership positions in a military unit, including relevant duties

-Experience as an Observer-Controller-Trainer (OCT)

-Experience as a Simulations Officer 57A

-BA or BS degree in a related technical field
