F-35 Weapons Systems Integration Engineer

Key Role:

Provide weapons and weapons systems technical integration support relating to the development and management of the F-35 System Development and Demonstration (SDD) phase, Continuous Capability Development and Delivery (C2D2) phase, and production and sustainment phases to reduce integration and manufacturing risk, promote operational supportability and its impact to the logistics footprint, and validate overall sustainment requirements, as referenced in the JSF Capabilities Production Document. Provide weapons system integration engineering support on client site. Review the prime contractor's flight test program to perform risk assessments to verify aerodynamic specification compliance and the evaluation of the design for each engineering approach. Assist with the refinement of the product support strategy. Perform detailed trade studies on weapon integration options, provide technical advice and F-35 aircraft risk assessments on technology maturation, integration, and demonstration for all planned F-25 aircraft weapons, including potential test methodologies and objectives, and assist with problem-solving engineering issues associated with the integration of all aircraft ordnance with aircraft subsystems, weapons configurations, and suspension and release equipment. Review and verify weapons integration plans under systems engineering approach validating processes, scope, and milestones in meeting programmatic objectives for air-to-air and air-to-surface for all international weapons of interest.

Basic Qualifications:

-6+ years of experience in an aviation systems or avionics engineering position

-5 years of experience with weapons systems acquisition program support

-5 years of experience in support of DoD classified programs and DoD ACAT-II or larger acquisition program

-Experience with using Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

-Experience with requirements management and tracking

-Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, requirements development, and technology transition or insertion planning

-Secret clearance required

-BA or BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
