Facilities Architect/Interior Designer

Key Role:

Coordinate and oversee the completion of activities in all phases of the project cycle of facilities–related projects worldwide. Manage the project design and construction effort, manage and evaluate contractor performance, provide official weekly project status reports, assemble a high performance, integrated team of all stakeholders, manage communications, and establish expectations throughout the project. Prepare and distribute project communications with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders. Assist the contracting officer and COTR with acquisition planning, execution, and administration. Collect requirements, prepare SOWs, conduct market research, and develop sole source justification, if appropriate. Conduct technical reviews and evaluate project solicitations, proposals, quotes, and proposed change requests, conduct pre–bid and pre–construction site visits, and prepare a Contractor Performance Report (CPR) upon contract closeout.

Basic Qualifications:

-3 years of experience with design and space planning of commercial or governmental interior or construction projects

-Experience in gathering and defining design requirements with requesting customers and preparing alternative solutions ranging from conceptual design to final design within established parameters

-Experience with creating design and construction documents, preparing project specifications, developing record control documents, and generating presentation graphics

-Experience in coordinating design activities with architecture, engineering, safety, security, construction, and other related functional areas

-Experience with managing and monitoring architecture and engineering (A&E) firms and construction firms for multiple projects during the design and construction phases and handling contract close out

-Knowledge of systems furniture and specifications, building codes and ADA requirements, informational technology, mechanical, electrical, or communications systems, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite and project software packages

-Ability to work within a US government organization and follow established processes and procedures

-Ability to travel domestically or overseas for the government, as required

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph required

-HS diploma or GED required

Additional Qualifications:

-BA or BS degree in Architecture, Building Engineering, or Interior Design

-National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification preferred

-Professional Project Manager Certification preferred

-National Council of Architectural Review Boards (NCARG) Architect License preferred

-EIT License preferred
