Facilities/Logistics Planner

Key Role:

Provide technical and advisory support to the client program office in all areas associated with Logistics Combat Element support, as articulated by the program manager, deputy program manager, and the designated client operations officer and perform a full range of independent support tasks. Maintain responsibility for providing technical advice and assistance to the client PM on a myriad of operations, plans, and integration matters, including contingency plans development, manpower management, training management, strategic planning, and force integration and modernization. Identify facilities and MILCON staffing and personnel support requirements. Maintain operational requirements data and advise the PM on the oversight of Marine Logistics Group (MLG's) client projects that involve operational force headquarters, maintenance, supply, armories, communications, utility infrastructure, training areas and range support facilities, ammunition storage facilities, and medical facilities and associated concept of operations. Serve as an SME and advisor to the client PM on matters pertaining to logistic command and control functions for the MLG, serve as a mid-level technical advisor and expert on military planning for the client program with respect to logistics, provide the PM with assistance on client aviation logistics planning, and translate higher authority guidance into command specific objectives and aviation logistics policies.


Basic Qualifications: 

-Experience with the Marine Corps planning process, operational plans (OPLANs), and concept plans (CONPLANs)

-Experience in working with a diverse and often conflicting group of stakeholders on politically sensitive and schedule-constrained construction projects

-Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles and applications through training and experience

-Knowledge of Naval Correspondence

-Knowledge of the overall mission, organization, functions, capabilities, administration, and operations of the Marine Corps and client

-Knowledge of horizontal and vertical construction, land development, airfield design, design development processes, and general construction means and methods for US and Japanese construction practices

-Ability to effectively communicate in the English language orally and in writing

-Secret clearance required

-BA or BS degree and 8+ years of experience in the DoD and Marine Corps

-Basic User of Total Force Structure Management System (TFSMS)
 
Additional Qualifications: 
-Experience with Marine Corps-specific facilities, engineering, and logistics

-Experience with the Pacific Command area of responsibility

-Possession of excellent project management skills

-MA or MS degree preferred

-Macro User of Total Force Structure Management System (TFSMS)

-Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
