Flight Planning Analyst

Key Role:

Provide expert advice and operational and over-the-shoulder support for a new flight planning system. Provide structure and coordinate with internal and external resources to solve challenges in a myriad of flight planning mission areas, assuring flyable flight plan reports for execution in support of global air mobility assets. Educate users on the use of multiple data sources to maximize and comprehend new, complex data-driven system capabilities and provide timely assistance in resolving critical and severe flight plan report messages. Evaluate courses of action, analyzing ever-changing airspace rules to mitigate risks to the execution of flight plans. Coordinate across government entities in the development and implementation of plans, policies, and operational procedures for functional support operations. Work with internal clients, team members, and management during all aspects of functional help desk operations.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with flight planning processes and global airspace

-Knowledge of aviation charts, DoD Flight Planning Regulations, and Country Aviation Information Publications

-Knowledge of current and emerging global airspace rules

-Ability to analyze an international flight plan for expected results, identify issues, and assist users with corrective actions

-Ability to use a myriad of software tools for helpdesk operations, including basic Microsoft SharePoint workflows, Microsoft Office Suite, such as Outlook’s organizational box e-mail or task lists, and BMC Remedy’s ticket management application

-Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify likely causes, and create and properly route a detailed incident ticket to minimize user downtime

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Command and Control (C2) of Air Mobility Forces preferred

-Experience with working flight plans in support of AMC Mission Planning or AOC a plus

-Experience as a rated officer

-Knowledge of Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (DAFIF) information and data structures preferred

-Knowledge of business processes or improvement methodologies

-Possession of excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

-IAT Level II Security+ Certification preferred

-ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
