Future Operations Plans Analyst

Key Role:

Advise on and assist with exercises and future operations work for the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Oceania, including Australia and New Zealand. Advise exercise planners on the development, design, and execution of operational and strategic exercises. Advise and support exercise simulation design, database, and response cell requirements for all exercises. Assist with analyzing budgets to support exercise conferences, surveys, and execution. Attend joint, bilateral, and multinational planning conferences, working groups, and site surveys to gather data and and provide recommendations to US government attendees on the conduct of military exercises. Advise on the performance of planning duties, including conducting deliberate planning for operation plans (OPLANs), concept of operations plans (CONPLANs), and crisis action planning for regional contingency operations. Advise on the development, maintenance, and validation of Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) and Force Flow for OPLANs, CONPLANs, and regional contingency operations in the client’s areas of interest.

Basic Qualifications:  

-5 years of experience in the Pacific Area of Operations (AOR), including planning

-2 years of experience in planning, prepartion, and coordination with adjacent components and Higher Headquarters (HHQ) Commands

-Experience with strategic planning and coordination in the client's AOR and Microsoft Office Suite, program and project management principles, process improvement, and mission planning

-Knowledge of the Marine Corps and Joint Planning processes, including policy and exercise development and the Marine Air-Ground Task Force's structure and employment

-Knowledge of the National Strategic Strategy, National Military Defense Strategy, Global Employment of the Force, Global Force Management, and Training and Exercise Employment Plan (TEEP)

-Ability to apply information in applicable documents to advising on the design of an exercise construct that meets operational planning, theater security cooperation, and training or readiness objectives

-Ability to advise leadership on means to achieve objectives within client guidance and priorities pertaining to operational tempo and fiscal constraints

-Ability to communicate complex data analysis topics to senior leaders and their staff clearly in both verbal and written forms and work with senior-level staff members

-Active TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with developing exercise scenarios, producing intelligence and operational products for exercises, to include basic orders with annexes and appendices for planners and METL based training in accordance to Marine Corps Planning Process doctrine

-Graduate of School of Advanced Warfighting preferred

-Completion of formal USMC schooling related to MAGTF operations

Clearance:
