Game Designer, Mid

Key Role:
Take on the challenge of serious and educational game development in a creative and fast-paced environment. Work as part of a team and strive to invent new ways to make learning fun. Collaborate with fellow designers, artists, engineers, and producers to create engaging experiences across desktop, mobile, and virtual reality platforms. Generate flexible designs that can be modified and tailored based on client feedback and in-house testing results. Manage the workload of the design team, provide constructive feedback on all product designs, and collaborate with designers to solve complex usability and environmental design issues. Playtest and provide feedback on a wide variety of products through all stages of production.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience as a professional game designer

-Experience with Unity, Unreal, or similar 3D game engines and Agile development practices

-Ability to create clear and concise, visually-oriented design materials that explain mechanics, systems, and features

-Ability to work on 2-3 different projects simultaneously

-Ability to produce a portfolio displaying past projects, including documentation examples

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree or 3+ years of experience with game design

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with designing multi-platform games, educational games, or board games

-Experience in working with instructional systems designers

-Experience with UI/UX design

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent critical thinking and analysis skills
