GeoBase Database Administrator

Key Role:

Serve as the database administrator for the ANG GeoBase Program and work closely with the systems administrator and data manager to support all necessary engineering efforts in the integration and testing of systems to meet evolving geospatial capabilities requirements for the ANG GeoBase Program. Perform all aspects of database administration, using Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, and ArcSDE technologies, including database backups, database creation, database upgrades when necessary, database login administration, performance analysis and tuning of databases, SQL log monitoring, and troubleshooting. Perform geospatial capabilities application development and support. Write comprehensive technical specifications and support documentation to ensure repeatable processes are documented for future use and as required by the contract. Produce various reports on a regular basis to provide ANG GIO, GeoBase program manager, and stakeholders a clear picture of what data is available for use, to show growth of the data over time, and to help the system administrator plan for future growth of the system. Interact regularly with stakeholders for requirements gathering and training and with other GeoBase team members to ensure open communication regarding data policies and procedures is maintained. Assist with the support of the information system operations, including Air Force information assurance standards and protocols, computer operations, technical support, systems analysis, system administration, ArcGIS mapping functions, information system training, and GeoBase education and awareness in coordination with ANG GeoBase program manager, GeoBase project manager, GeoBase garrison manager, and GeoBase asset management site lead, as necessary. This position is located at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base, TN.

Basic Qualifications:

-6+ years of experience in a professional work environment

-4+ years of experience with database administration, database development, and management with developing and supporting Microsoft Access databases and Excel, including VBA, Access Macros, and SQL

-Experience with implementing and managing large geospatial technologies projects and enterprise–wide programs

-Experience with relational database management systems, including Microsoft SQL Server

-Experience with leading geospatial technologies, vendor software, and software configurations

-Experience with CADD technologies and data migration to GIS and development or maintenance of SharePoint sites

-Experience in working with DoD, Air Force, NGB, or ANG industry standard Information Assurance policies and practices

-Secret clearance

-AA or AS degree and 2 years of experience with IT

-DoD 8570 Certification, including CompTIA Security+ or obtain within 30 days of hire

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with authoring data management plans, QA/QC plans, geospatial technologies needs analyses, strategic plans, and implementation plans

-Experience with authoring standard operating procedures and technical manuals for geospatial and database technologies

-Experience with Web technologies, standards, and protocols

-Experience with requirements gathering and needs assessment

-Experience with using visualization systems, including Tableau

-Knowledge of relevant industry, government, and DoD standards, including SDSFIE, ISO, and FGDC metadata standards

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BA or BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or CS

-Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Database Certification

-MCSE Data Management and Analytics Certification
