Geographic Information Systems Support Analyst, Mid

Key Role:
Assist with manipulating and analyzing GIS data for topology rules and attributes, format manipulation, and geo-referencing. Compile, attribute, edit, and maintain GIS data in geographic and operational databases and their associated documentation. Develop and use queries and other GIS tools to conduct quality control and analyze spatial data and assist with decision making, generating map products, and ensuring data quality. Research and implement database processes to integrate complex geospatial databases from sources and communicate issues and errors to constituents to correct and enhance data quality in meaningful ways, including technical support and training for entry-level GIS users. Respond to technical questions from GIS users and resolve problems, refer and discuss complex problems with government personnel or other designated contacts, as appropriate, and ensure GIS data and data processing procedures adhere to standards, policies, and other guidelines. Manage GIS database and ensure the DPRI database is up to date and matches all other GIS databases supporting client initiatives and provide cartographic design support for construction, ranges, training areas, surface danger zones, environmental resource information, and aviation support. Create, edit, and maintain GIS database information for senior-level briefings, construction design, military usage, and political negotiations and transfer GIS layers to GPS overlays.
 

Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with the Range Managers toolkit software
-Knowledge of how to use ArcGIS software 10.2 to develop GIS databases
-Knowledge of topological concepts and applications and how to sue ESRI software
-Knowledge of assembling and combining spatial content from multiple data sources, including local, federal and regional governments for analytical purposes
-Knowledge of geo-referencing records and products and converting non-GIS formats into usable GIS data to support terrain and topographic analyses
-Knowledge of Python scripting
-Knowledge of how to communicate complex GIS concepts to entry-level users
-Knowledge of using GPS systems, including cadastral mapping
-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
