Geospatial Software Developer

Key Role:

Work as a member of a dynamic agile team developing and sustaining geospatial Web applications for a DoD client, assist with translating the client’s vision into technical requirements, and design solutions to satisfy the client’s mission and Cybersecurity requirements. Develop software features using technologies and frameworks, including .NET, JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS, Python, Java, Adobe Flex, and ESRI software products. Participate in daily stand-up meetings and other agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives. Perform unit testing and assist with peer coding reviews, produce software documentation and artifacts, and perform configuration and change management processes. Assist teammates, clients, and users in troubleshooting issues. Provide recommendations to improve technical solutions and client delivery.


Basic Qualifications:

-8 years of experience with GIS with 3 years of those years of experience with performing GIS application development, including Web-based GIS applications

-Experience with .NET, JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS, Python, Java, and Adobe Flex

-Experience with multiple JavaScript libraries, including Dojo, jQuery, or Leaflet

-Knowledge of ESRI geodatabase technology

-Knowledge of maintaining or creating geospatial application program interfaces (API), including ESRI's ArcGIS Server

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

-CompTIA Security Plus (Sec+) Certification


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with developing IT solutions for DoD clients preferred

-Experience with Agile development

-Knowledge of RDBMS software, including Oracle

-Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-discipline team

-Possession of excellent oral and technical written communication skills

-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills

-BA or BS degree in Geography, Engineering, Environmental Science, CS, or a related field
