Governance/Policy Manager, Senior

Key Role:

Serve as the central point of contact for clients and apply expert knowledge of interagency governance, policy analysis, and program management areas. Oversee changes in policies to support new initiatives or required changes and oversee the implications of changes within the client organization. Monitor current media, Web, industry, and consumer communications to identify issues regarding policy and regulation and design and carry out research analyses across disciplines to assess the effectiveness and consistency of program objectives, goals, and policies. Use analyses outcomes to develop recommendations for new strategies and change activities regarding process and regulatory policy. Relay procedural steps, progress, directions, and feedback towards the implementation of process and policy changes to coworkers and implementation team members and work within established timeframes and deadlines. Represent the organization at meetings by providing and eliciting analyses, recommendations, suggestions, and commitments on process and policy development activities and participate in negotiations with leaders at various organization levels to gain acceptance of recommendations and requirements that involve changes in established processes and activities. Oversee and supervise junior staff and maintain deadline responsibility in the area managed.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with reviewing, interpreting, and authoring government polices

-Experience with analyzing the development of action plans for organizations to achieve long-term objectives

-Experience in leading or working with cross-agency executive working or steering groups

-Experience with strategy or management consulting

-Ability to prepare speeches or statements for senior executives

-Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, complex team environment with a variety of stakeholders effectively

-Ability to direct and oversee the implementation of large policy and interagency initiatives  

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree or 10+ years of experience in a government policy role

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with VA, the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, or Air Force as a support contractor

-Experience with the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA)'s Transition Assistance Program (TAP)

-Ability to multitask and lead teams to the successful completion of deliverables under tight deadlines

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent analysis and strategic problem-solving skills

-Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
