Grants Financial Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Provide grants fiscal support for the Department of HHS, Administration for Children and Families, and Office of Head Start. Perform federal grants fiscal analysis tasks and leverage knowledge of federal grant guidelines, including HHS, ACF, and Head Start programs. Perform activities designed to ensure complete, timely review of grant applications, including audit reports, and financial statements. Provide insight and technical assistance to assigned grantees regarding fiscal and internal control best practices, including comprehend financial operations, and leverage knowledge of researching statutes, legislation, regulations, and directives that govern the financial aspects of a government grant-funded program. Interact with Head Start grantees and maintain responsibility for administering a grant load of approximately 18 grants. Meet established quality thresholds for all deliverables, identify trends and tasks in a collaborative team environment, including work closely with a team and federal staff consisting of program and grants specialists. Act as an innovative thinker and recommend ideas to improve existing processes. This position is full-time and is located in Philadelphia, PA.


Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with the accounting and financial management of government or nonprofit entities

-2+ years of experience with the fiscal administration of federal grants

-Experience with Microsoft Office

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Finance or Accounting


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with indirect cost rate agreements, cost allocation plans, and the Federal Single Audit process

-Experience with researching statutes, legislation, regulations, and directives that govern the financial aspects of a government agency

-Knowledge of Head Start a plus

-Knowledge of the Payment Management System a plus

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent organizational, client management, and analytical skills

-Grants Management Certificate or Certified Grants Management Specialist Certification
