Graphics Designer/2D UI-UX Artist, Junior

Key Role:

Analyze the design and development of visual communications materials for the organization's marketing publications, Web sites, or other media. Prepare layouts and art and determine the style, size, and arrangement of illustrations and text. Use the latest graphics design technology and computer software. Provide technical and operational support to projects and programs and exercise discretion and independent judgment in the area of expertise. Leverage knowledge of general principles and practices of the functional area. Serve as a conceptual graphics designer, gathering raw data from various sources, including in person, e-mail, briefings, meetings, and phone calls and analyze the development of comprehensive, clear, interactive, and visually engaging graphics. Turn information and data into easy-to-comprehend graphics that help convince others.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience in the design environment with Adobe Creative suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat and Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint

-2+ years of experience with user interface (UI) design

-Knowledge of design principles and typography

-Ability to conceptualize illustrations and information design and follow through to finished product

-Ability to multitask across multiple projects and clients in a fast-paced and team-based environment

-Ability to provide a portfolio showcasing broad design expertise, including branding, infographics, process diagrams, and traditional communication marketing materials

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-AA or AS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with writing and editing with a focus on user-centered design

-Experience with formatting various data into a visually appealing layout

-Knowledge of 2 or more of the following areas: basic Web design, including HTML and CSS, motion graphics or 2D animation, 3D modeling, altered reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) applications, learning management systems (LMS), immersive learning, or the DoD environment

-Possession of excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree
