Graphics Designer/Cartographer

Key Role:

Provide graphics content for intelligence products, brochures, handouts, presentations, posters, product guides, workbooks, catalogs, and signage on classified and unclassified systems in a timely manner. Provide graphics content for map-based intelligence products and presentations on classified and unclassified systems for a client base ranging between state and local officials, intelligence analysts, and senior executive leadership. Work with analysts to conceptualize issues and formalize corresponding data, including charts and graphs. Maintain shape files, hard copy maps, and geographic data and distribute needed files to designers in the appropriate formats when and where applicable. Digest large datasets to visualize national and international analytics mapping concepts. Develop marketing materials for DHS I&A campaigns. This position has no telework options available.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with graphics design

-3+ years of experience with cartography

-Experience with creating maps and graphics for intelligence products in the intelligence community (IC)

-Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud software Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop and import and modify maps in these tools

-Experience with ESRI ArcMap 10.2 or above and creating interactive maps using JavaScript, D3, Highmaps, and Leaflet

-Experience in working side-by-side with client staff serving customers

-Ability to produce client-ready work with no supervision

-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment in which multi-tasking is often required and deadlines are often short
-TS/SCI clearance

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Google Earth and Avenza Map Publisher use

-Experience with Adobe Animate or other animation applications

-Experience with creating interactive forms
