Host Based Security System SME

Key Role:

Provide end users tiered–level customer support by coordinating software, hardware, network, and security issue resolution and install, configure, troubleshoot, and provide maintenance and training. Provide day–to–day support for Fleet units, including guidance, account creation, ePO functionality, primarily follow SOPs and TTPs and escalate other issues. Facilitate the delivery of Host–Based Security System (HBSS) SME tracking, artifacts, and documentation to the HBSS overarching project management, provide support to Fleet Units for all matters dealing with HBSS ashore ePO management, and escalate issues and problems to support solution development. Manage, track, and report policy exceptions IAW Navy TTPs and SOPs and report compliance status IAW Navy mandates and management direction. Implement HBSS deployment and policy strategies IAW approved Navy TTPs and SOPs, manage ticketing system, monitor and analyze rogue system detection, and respond and report IAW approved Navy TTPs and SOPs. Verify that automated reports are being sent out, as needed, create server tasks and automated reports, review HBSS threat events, maintain a presence in the HBSS chat room, identify potential shortfalls in watch floor processes and procedures, and provide recommendations for potential watchfloor processes improvements. Review and provide guidance on the Navy’s distributed Defense Cyber Operations structure and procedures and assist with the development and execution of training and instruction to personnel in proper policy and procedures as they relate to Distributed Defensive Cyber Operations. This position has the potential for evening and mid–shift work.


Basic Qualifications:

-7 years of experience with IT

-2+ years of experience with a helpdesk

-Experience with DoD or DoN Cybersecurity

-Experience in working with the HBSS

-Active Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

-CompTIA Security + Certification


Additional Qualifications:

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills


Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
