Hypersonic Engineer/SME

Key Role:

Research, design, develop, and test structures, propulsion units, and guidance and control subsystems for aircraft, missiles, or spacecraft. Analyze complex aerospace product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods. Evaluate new advanced technologies for application in improving design of complex aerospace systems. Plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate testing of complex aerospace systems and perform risk assessment of advanced aerospace systems and generate risk mitigation plans and strategies. Act as an advanced consultant with capability knowledge to excel at client delivery, leveraging developed expertise in a specific area. Lead the generation of intellectual capital in order to help the firm grow its business, leverage and develop client relationships while using valued knowledge and trusted advice, and interact directly with senior-level clients. Develop competency in project and financial management, participate in managing teams and formulating business strategy, and guide the progress of projects while mentoring junior staff in both firm and technical competencies.

Basic Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in the missile development field

-5+ years of experience with hypersonic vehicles

-Experience in a systems engineering role with complex weapons systems design, fielding, or deployment, including architecture, technical and programmatic, and performance definition and assessment

-Experience with office software

-Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe

-Ability to work and lead in a team environment

-Secret clearance required

-BA or BS degree or 10 years of experience with aerospace engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with providing technology assessments of concepts, systems, and associated architectures

-Knowledge of the ballistic missile defense system, its elements and programs, and its general organizational structure

-Knowledge of Hypersonic unique structures, aerodynamic characteristics, materials, and trajectories

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-MA or MS degree preferred
