Incident Management Specialist

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for incident response, data collection, investigation, and analysis of escalated, unplanned interruptions to legacy IT systems and applications. Conduct reviews and technical inspections to identify and mitigate issues and ensure all patches applied to a system are implemented and functional, including providing status reports and progress to management. Restore normal service operation as quickly as possible and minimize the adverse impact on operations to maintain service level agreements and the operational mission. Collaborate with the service provider to resolve issues or ensure further escalation procedures are followed. Interface with users to assist them with reports of suspicious or malicious activity. Provide root cause and trend analysis of software or application issues and assist with the remediation to prevent future incidents or reduce the impact of unavoidable incidents.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with incident management

-3+ years of experience with network analysis

-Experience with incident handling, vulnerability management and reporting, risk analysis, and readiness and strategic planning analysis

-Experience with performing host or network incident response and analysis

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-AA or AS degree or 5+ years of experience with incident management

-CompTIA Security+ certification per DoD 8570 IA Compliance

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of XACTA IA Management Tool or similar IA incident tool

-Ability to lead troubleshooting efforts and escalate issues to advanced technical teams, OEM vendors, or management

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BA or BS degree preferred
