Information Assurance Specialist, Junior

Key Role:

Work with the ISSO and ISSM to ensure all system security procedures are followed in accordance with DoD policy and client requirements. Assist with the accreditation and maintenance of classified information systems under the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Conduct user briefings, configure hardware and software controls, participate in the containment and mitigation of classified data spills, maintain system audits, and apply patches to improve the system security posture, as required. Review the security of accredited systems using the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tool and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Analyze problems and take independent action to find cohesive solutions in a fast-paced team environment. Interact with internal and external customers or government security officials to perform security duties, address routine information security matters, and troubleshoot system complications.

Basic Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience in an information assurance, systems analyst, or systems support role in a defense contracting or US government environment

-Knowledge of Defense Security Services Authorization and Assessment Process Manual (DAAPM) and RMF requirements

-Ability to implement hardware and software controls, apply system patches, and conduct system audits

-Ability to work in a collaborative team environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines

-Active Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the development of RMF accreditation documentation

-Experience with the accreditation and maintenance of SIPRNet

-Knowledge of OBMS, NISPOM, DCIDs or ICDs, and JAFAN

-Ability to perform information assurance verification, validation, and testing for DoD accredited systems

-Ability to contain and mitigate data spills or data incidents

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent customer service skills

-Top Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in an IT-related field
