Information Design and Visualization Specialist, Mid

Key Role:

Design and develop complex graphics and illustrations for use in technical materials, manuals, and publications. Operate computer hardware and software to prepare, revise, print and store text, illustrations, graphs, and charts, including the operation of equipment, such as video cameras for the design and production of photos and videotape. Formulate concepts and render illustrations and detail from models, sketches, memory, written or verbal instructions, and imagination. Perform inking and paste-up, as needed. Select type, draw lettering, and lay out material. Determine the style, technique, and medium best suited to produce desired effects and conform with reproduction requirements or follow specific instructions regarding these variables. Provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with graphics design

-3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop

-Knowledge of information visualization and design techniques and theory

-Ability to gather raw data from various sources and develop comprehensive, visually engaging designs, visualizations, and presentations

-Ability to show an excellent portfolio showcasing broad design expertise

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of Tableau

-Ability to be a self–starter and multitask across multiple projects and clients in a fast–paced and team–based environment

-Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines effectively

-Ability to pay strict attention to detail

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
