Information Design and Visualization Specialist

Key Role:
Collect, manipulate, analyze, evaluate, and display highly complex data on three-dimensional characteristics and spatial variables on both small and large scales, including geographic information systems (GIS), computer aided design (CAD) software, database and expert systems frameworks, visual simulation capabilities, remote sensing or satellite imagery collection, and multimedia techniques including virtual reality to be used individually and in combination to solve somewhat complex problems. Suggest new ways of collaborating in virtual environments, explore virtual reality technology for shared visualization, and develop collaborative management tools for scheduling and monitoring resources. Propose ways to exploit emerging architectures for supporting human interactions with systems in the 100 teraFLOPS to petaFLOPS range. Apply expertise in immersive visualization, distributed computing, object-oriented programming, virtual reality, scalable parallel computing, visualization, C++, computer security, network programming, graphics, Java, open inventor, open GL, qualitative service, IRIX, CORBA, scientific computing, and silicon graphics.
 

Basic Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience with graphics design
-3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop 
-Knowledge of information visualization and design techniques and theory, including gathering raw data from various sources and developing comprehensive, visually engaging designs, visualizations, and presentations
-Ability to show a portfolio showcasing broad expertise in design 
-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
