Information Security Specialist

Key Role:

Work on the planning and continuous monitoring of Cybersecurity and privacy policies, programs, compliance artifacts, or standards supporting government and industry security compliance, systems accreditation, and management. Administer the documentation, validation, and accreditation processes necessary to ensure systems meet security and privacy requirements. Consult on the assessment of the effectiveness of an organization’s IT security and privacy training program, including consulting on social engineering exercises to ensure training remains consistent with current Cybersecurity and privacy threats and policies, and assists in achieving full compliance with all laws and regulations.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with handling risk determinations based on adequate evaluation of system vulnerabilities, security impact, threat source, and likelihood to determine cost-effective and essential safeguards

-Experience with analyzing scan results for Web application and database vulnerabilities

-Experience with maintaining security authorizations in accordance with published procedures

-Ability to apply, analyze, and assess information systems security controls based on government and industry standards, including NIST SP 800-53 and 800-37 guidance

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Ability to work independently and directly with clients

-Ability to lead project tasks, including managing staff members or leading small teams

-BA or BS degree in Information Systems Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred; MS degree in Information Systems Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field a plus

-CISSP and Security+ Certifications
