Information Security Systems Validator

Key Role:

Develop Information Assurance (IA) or Cybersecurity strategies for both new systems and enhancements or overhauls of existing systems. Influence the system requirements and design processes to incorporate the identification of Cyber requirements early in these processes. Suggest architecture solutions to these systems that support both the functional requirements of the systems and Cyber or information assurance requirements. Assess system or software risk and vulnerability and perform risk assessment on these reported vulnerabilities. Develop Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages for the certification and accreditation of both new and existing networks, labs, or programs of record. Validate RMF packages for the certification and accreditation of both new and existing networks, labs, or programs of record. Monitor the security posture of assigned networks, labs, or programs, analyze the development of remediation and mitigation plans and tasking to address vulnerabilities, and attend systems meetings and IPTs to support the Navy PM in all Cybersecurity matters.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with DoD or DoN and IA or Cybersecurity processes

-3+ years of experience in a supervisory role

-Experience with Retina or ACAS scanning tools

-Experience with writing DIACAP or RMF packages

-Experience with applying DoD IA and Information Security (IS) policies and standards

-Experience as a leader or key player in Cyber systems engineering on defense systems, including defining the Cyber requirements of a system in its early phases of requirements and design

-Knowledge of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and Navy systems, infrastructure and test and evaluation techniques

-Knowledge of DoD IA or Cybersecurity directives

-Secret clearance

Additional Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in a supervisory role

-5+ years of experience with communicating, interacting, and working among senior executive service and Flag level personnel

-Experience with NQV Level II training requirements

-Experience with software assurance and penetration testing

-Experience with the eMASS A&A tool

-BA or BS degree or 10+ years of experience in a professional work environment
