Information Systems Security Engineer

Key Role:

Define security design requirements, review and design systems security architectures, and develop an overall security strategy for combat ground platforms considering the intended environment of the system. Develop and influence system engineering plans, policies, and procedures in accordance with DoD, Army, industry, and academia best practices. Determine Cybersecurity strategies and implementation methods with respect to application in combat vehicles and serve as the technical specialist pertaining to Cybersecurity in areas of vehicle electronics, vehicle architecture, cross domain solutions, software architecture, network architecture, and Cybersecurity vulnerability assessment tools and penetration testing tactics on major systems, subsystems, and components having specialized application to combat vehicles. Leverage knowledge in the areas of embedded system software, embedded systems architecture, firmware, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), root of trust mechanisms, operating systems hardening techniques, DoD Cybersecurity risk management, systems security engineering best practices, and DoD Cybersecurity policies and regulations. Plan and develop with systems security engineering strategies, security architecture and design, integration frameworks, systems engineering plans, and system-of-systems architectures. Maintain a comprehension of the program with emphasis on cost, schedule, and performance.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with embedded software in ground, air, or sea systems or platforms

-Knowledge of DoD acquisition and life cycle management policies, procedures, and practices

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Engineering or CS

Additional Qualifications:

-Ability to apply computer software sciences and systems engineering theories, principles, tools, and best practices to address user needs and performance requirements with engineered, optimal, cost effective, reliable, maintainable, best-value, and embedded systems software solutions

-Ability to develop and execute software and electronics life cycle management, development, transition, and sustainment and support plans

-Ability to apply program management, project management, risk management, and value management techniques and principles to determine and optimize cost, schedule, and performance parameters from development to fielding for software products

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Completion of relevant course work for software engineering or development for embedded electronic systems a plus
