Information Systems Security Officer

Key Role:
Assist with the assessment and authorization (A&A) process under the risk management framework (RMF), as directed by the Defense Security Services Authorization and Assessment Process Manual (DAAPM) for standalone computers and networks. Assist with contamination management in the event of classified data spills and ensure auditing requirements are completed for media control, virus scanning, hardware and software control, and computer security briefings. Act as an advocate for all disciplines within the security program while ensuring that business needs are met. Work with the system administrator to ensure all systems security procedures are being followed and audit files are being maintained and reviewed in accordance with multiple client requirements. Make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions to effectively communicate information to various audiences both through both oral and written communication. Interact with internal and external customers or government security officials to perform security duties, address routine information security matters with employees regarding issues, including report preparation, system security access briefings, and other duties as a member of a team reporting to the ISSM, as required.  
 

Basic Qualifications:
-Knowledge of the DAAPM process and OBMS and NCAISS Web sites
-Knowledge of government security directives
-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree and 2 years of experience as an ISSO or 4+ years of experience as an ISSO in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of NISPOM, DCIDs or ICDs, and JAFAN

-Top Secret clearance

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
