Information Systems Security Officer

Key Role:

Work as a dynamic, highly motivated, and well-organized individual. Leverage experience with administering US government security policies and procedures to serve as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). Provide assessment and authorization of computer networks using government standards and data contamination management, including coordinating clean-up efforts and reporting requirements, and ensuring auditing requirements are completed. Maintain responsibility for media control, virus scanning, hardware and software control, and computer security briefings, serve as an excellent advocate for all disciplines within the security program, and ensuring the business needs are met. Work with system administrators to ensure all systems security procedures are being followed and audit files are maintained and reviewed in accordance with multiple client requirements, and offer sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions. Communicate information effectively to various audiences in oral and written communications. Interact with internal and external clients or Government security officials to perform security duties, address routine information security matters with employees regarding issues, and perform report preparation, system security access briefings, and other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information Security System Manager (ISSM) with auditing and security functions
-Experience with Windows or Linux administration

-Knowledge of the assessment and authorization process for DoD computers
-Knowledge of the NISPOM, JSIG, DCID/ICD's, and other government security directives

-Knowledge of audit reduction tools and applications
-Knowledge of incident handling, including data spills, for unclassified and classified systems

-Knowledge of DSS(DAAPM) and ICD503/RMF certification and accreditation processes for classified systems
-Knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual Chapter 8 and ICD503/RMF DoD 8570 Security, Security +, CISSP, and Level 1 IAM Certification

-Top Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of security disciplines and how they impact and interact with IS security

-Ability to work in a team environment

-BS degree in IT, Cyber, or Information Assurance

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Top Secret clearance is required.
