Intelligence Exercise Planner

Key Role: 

Serve as the US European Command's intelligence planner. Maintain responsibility for analyzing and offering recommendations on the design of military exercises through the integration of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems, Joint and Service level simulation systems, and the provisioning of master scenario event lists for command, Joint, and multinational training exercises and events. Develop recommended exercise scenarios and produce intelligence and operational products for exercises, including basic orders with annexes and appendices for planners and mission essential task lists based training in accordance with Joint Doctrine and the Joint operations planning process. Assess and advise training and planning options to further develop J2 staff capabilities and provide recommendations to J2 for exercise design to develop J2 capabilities to fight in a major contingency operation and other Combatant Command operations. Draft and present reports, briefings, and other communications to present recommendations for developing intelligence capabilities. Attend exercise design and other meetings, as directed.


Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with Service or Combatant Command (CCMD) intelligence planning or operations

-3+ years of experience with designing, supporting, and executing service, CCMD exercises, wargames, or assessments

-Experience with Joint Intelligence Operations Center (JIOC) operations

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications

-Experience with NATO or SHAPE military planning, operations, and exercises

-Experience with Joint exercise life cycle activities and consolidated support requirements

-Experience with writing and editing clear, concise intelligence products

-Knowledge of the European region

-Ability to perform shift work, if requested

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent presentation skills

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
