Inventory Management Specialist

Key Role:

Provide causative research to support physical inventory and property, including general fund and Navy Working Capital Fund inventory. Provide reconciliation of transactional discrepant records to achieve inventory accuracy and asset completeness, including conducting inventory management causative research and maintaining metrics to support trend analysis. Conduct causative research on inventory discrepancies, stock denials for inventory gains and inventory losses,  and inventory on line items held in stock, as required, including “book to floor” or “floor to book”. Review issue and receipt documentation to assure accuracy and completeness, including MRO, DD250, DD1348, DD1149, or GBL, as required and review inventory management and control for storage and distribution support associated with a Marine Corps wholesale distribution operation. Apply various methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing, and effecting corrective action on supply management problems using comprehension of quality characteristics, measurement, and testing techniques and expertise in developing a corrective action plan and assisting with the development of corrective measures and procedures for deficient inventory management programs.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with Marine Corps enterprise materiel management, logistics operations, and inventory control
-Experience with Marine Corps logistics, material management, and supply chain management

-Knowledge of the systems and processes for materiel management or inventory control, financial systems, and their interface with current DoD systems to provide materiel management and  inventory control

-Knowledge of logistics automated information and data systems

-Knowledge of the identification and physical inventory of military equipment and systems, including Marine Corps-specific configurations
-HS diploma or GED
