Inventory Management Specialist

Key Role:

Provide causative research in support of physical inventory and related property, including LOGCOM general fund and Navy working capital fund-related inventory. Provide reconciliation of transactional discrepant records to achieve inventory accuracy and asset completeness, conducting inventory management causative research and maintaining metrics to support trend analysis. Liaise with a DoD client to facilitate virtual book Distribution Standard System (DSS) reconciliations via the MARCORLOGCOM Physical Inventory Control Department, Marine Depot Maintenance Command, and Logistics Management Services Center. Conduct causative research on inventory discrepancies, stock denials for inventory gains and inventory losses, and inventory on line items held in stock, as required, including book to floor and floor to book. Review issue and receipt documentation to assure accuracy and completeness, including MRO, DD250, DD1348, DD1149, and GBL, as required and conduct reviews of inventory management and control for storage and distribution support associated with a Marine Corporation wholesale distribution operation. Apply various methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing, and effecting corrective actions on supply management problems applying a thorough knowledge of quality characteristics, measurement, and testing techniques and expertise in developing corrective action plan and assist with the development of corrective measures and procedures for deficient inventory management programs.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with Marine Corporations Enterprise Materiel Management, logistics operations, inventory control, or associated systems

-Experience with Marine Corporations Supply Maintenance Assistance Team (SMAT) or Field Supply and Maintenance Analysis Office (FSMAO), preferred

-Experience with conducting comprehensive analyses, studies, surveys, reviews, or research projects for defining problems, identifying potential courses of action, and proposing solutions for materiel management and inventory control issues

-Knowledge of the identification and physical inventory of military equipment and systems, including Marine Corporations specific configurations

-Knowledge of the systems and processes for materiel management and inventory control, financial systems, and their interface with current DoD systems to provide materiel management and inventory control

-Knowledge of using logistics automated information and data systems

-HS diploma or GED
