IT Digital Forensics Technologist

Key Role:

Perform forensic analysis of digital information and gather and handle evidence. Use forensically sound procedures to identify network computer intrusion evidence and identify perpetrators. Employ forensic tools and techniques to support the investigation of computer fraud or other electronic crimes, crack files and system passwords, detect steganography, and recover deleted, fragmented, and corrupted data from digital media of all types. Observe proper evidence custody and control procedures, document procedures and findings in a manner suitable for courtroom presentation, and prepare comprehensive written notes and reports. Serve as an expert witness in federal or military court, as needed, including comprehending the wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field. Work under general direction and determine and develop approaches to solutions independently. Prepare work to be reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives and contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects.

Basic Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience with providing help desk support

-1+ years of experience with troubleshooting computer systems

-Experience with connecting and mounting media from hard drives, including .ISO files, and Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices

-Knowledge of PowerShell

-Knowledge of Windows 7, Mac OS, and Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2

-Knowledge of basic networking

-Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive reports of findings

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with computer forensic tool technology

-Knowledge of basic computer security and forensic policies and procedures

-Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
