IT Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for enterprise IT monitoring capabilities, including Layer-3 networking, virtualization, systems administration, and platform support. Work alongside monitoring leadership and other subject matter experts in the coordination of engineering and operational activities and coordinate across teams to meet engineering and operational service level agreements (SLAs). Perform a variety of analytical tasks concerning the design and implementation of IT services and solutions, including hardware platform and software monitoring. Plan and perform analytical and engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering, and client specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with planning, design, implementing, and analyzing network infrastructure and operations monitoring solutions, including creating enterprise dashboards, reporting tools, and alerting mechanisms

-Experience with IT systems administration and operations

-Active TS/SCI clearance required; willingness to take a polygraph exam
-HS diploma or GED and 6+ years of experience with IT systems, AA or AS degree and 4+ years of experience IT systems, or BA or BS degree and 2+ years of experience with IT systems

-DoD 8570 Baseline Security Certification, including Security+, CASP, CISSP, or CISM or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the management and operational use of systems monitoring tools, including SolarWinds, Splunk, Microsoft SCOM, and ServiceNow
-Experience with using data and trend analysis to identify areas of process improvement, technical deficiencies, capacity management, and areas of opportunity
-Experience with analyzing and enhancing operational procedures and new innovative solutions to address current and emerging IT challenges
-Knowledge of ITIL change management and problem management best practices
-Ability to work independently and as a team member to solve difficult technical challenges on a global scale
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent team collaboration skills
-BA or BS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, or Network Engineering
-ITILv3 Foundation Certification
-DoD 8570 Baseline Certification, including Security+, CASP, CISSP, or CISM
