Knowledge Management Specialist

Key Role:

Work for the US Army Reserve (USAR) KM Team to assist with implementing a KM methodology for sharing knowledge to ensure the command has access to critical knowledge required in support of successful mission execution. Support training development and execution and leverages expertise in support of implementing and managing KM initiatives that drive knowledge creation, capture, sharing and collaboration, use, and transfer. Train and maintain front-end support for NIPRNet and SIPRNet KM sites. Make recommendations and execute KM strategies, plans, processes, tools, assessments, meeting management practices, and participation in KM working groups. Assist with the development of KM roadmaps to improve the client's business operations and facilitate the sharing and leveraging of best business practices from the KM community. Facilitate support and content management development, conduct collaborative tools training in support of the USAR KM Integration Strategy, and assist with the development and implementation of organizational KM strategies, as directed. Contribute actively to functional expertise for the management of client deliverables, leverage industry best practices, and develop client-ready products, including briefings, reports, and internal communications.


Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience in a professional knowledge management work environment

-Experience with developing and maintaining SharePoint site Collections

-Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, KM Fundamentals, and KM Tools

-Experience with developing, designing, editing, and presenting training on KM tools and concepts using a variety of environments, including eLearning, distance, and resident learning

-Experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and 2013 workflows, SharePoint Designer, and InfoPath

-Knowledge of KM principles, procedures, and processes in a DoD environment

-Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with leveraging KM applications through organizational analysis

-Experience with desk-side support and guiding non-SharePoint users to learn and adopt SharePoint solutions

-Ability to work independently or in a team environment

-Ability to pay strict attention to detail and accuracy of information, including organizing large amounts of data and setting priorities for analysis and use in consultation with stakeholders.

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills

-Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) Certifications preferred
