Job Description

Job Number: R0029732

Linux Developer

The Challenge:

Are you looking for an opportunity to solve unique problems with custom solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment? This isn’t your typical software engineering role – we build tools for embedded systems that are used by investigators for lawful system access, surveillance, and collections. You’ll get your hands dirty with embedded Linux platforms, figure out how they work, and build tools that catch bad actors. You need to be skilled with C/C++, Python, Linux utilities, and other embedded tools, and you’ll work with the team to analyze network traffic, user activity, or system logs. You’ll find the backdoors on embedded systems, reverse engineer the protocols and software, and make the tools that make the case.

Our development team is small and mission timelines matter more than sprint cycles, so don’t expect a formal development environment or a lot of acceptance testing. You can expect ownership of your products from start to finish and recognition for your clever shortcut, hack, kludge, or bodge. Most importantly, expect to leave satisfied every day that your work and tools play an important role in investigations of criminals and threat actors with high impact on public safety and national security.
